Merge Gardens Storytelling

BOND Brand Agency, collaborated with Futureplay to create a series of cinematic, 3D-animated promotional episodes for the mobile game Merge Gardens as part of its rebranding efforts. These episodes revealed the game's new story and lore, deepening the connection between the game and its community.

As a storyteller and writer, I worked together with BOND Creative Agency during the rebrand, which included rethinking the core idea, characters, lore, visual expression and game brand. The outcome was a riveting story of protagonist Daisy and her estranged family with roots going more than a century back in time - and a whole cast of side characters and plotlines. A mystery that turned into a comprehensive 25-page storybook, used by the Futureplay team to steer game design and unify the brand world.

With impressions reaching into the billions, Futureplay has seen a massive 10-fold increase in app downloads and an amazing doubling in retention. The online marketing films have turned into highly anticipated episodic content with fans screaming for more, discussing plots and hailing it as some of the best advertising in gaming.
